Anti-abortion crusade in Eastern Greater Poland

Since the first quarter of 2024, the Right to Life Foundation has been conducting anti-abortion activities in Eastern Greater Poland region.

Since then and with the involvement of local pro-life activists, a number of initiatives have been organized, including the “Choose Life” educational exhibition in the parishes of Konin-Chorzeń, Brzeźno, Posada, Cienin Kościelny, Budzisław Kościelny, Sompolno, Ślesin, Kuchary Kościelne, Kuny, Brudzew, Powiercie, Dęby Szlacheckie, Chełmno nad Nerem, Lubstówek, Wrząca Wielka, Mąkolno, Uniejów, Ochle and Skarboszewo.

In total the exhibition was shown in 19 towns, 15 communes and 6 counties.

Two billboards were erected along national road no. 92 (Konin – Koło route) and on Szpitalna Street in Konin.

Several monthly public rosaries with the intention of stopping the murder of unborn children were organized mostly in the former Centrum Department Stores in Konin.

A protest took place in front of the MOSiR hall in Konin, where a meeting was held with the former presidential pro-abortion candidate, Rafał Trzaskowski. Konin residents were informed about Trzaskowski’s party the Civic Platform’s infanticidal policies.

An anti-abortion film „He Wasn’t Meant to Live” was screened in Mielżyn and thousands of anti-abortion stickers and leaflets were distributed.

It is worth mentioning that since 2011 the „Choose Life” exhibition has been on display in St. Maksymilian Kolbe church in Konin city centre. Previously, this exhibition was also presented in Licheń.

Currently, the Foundation organizes monthly anti-abortion pickets at the Konin train station.

The exhibition in Chorzń and Budzisław Kościelny resonated widely in the Konin district and beyond. In these two towns, local pro-abortion feminists, including the Konin Women’s Council, made no secret of their outrage and frustration, expressing it on their Facebook accounts and on the local news portal LM.

Police also became involved in the protest against the exhibition in Chorzno and Budzisław Kościelny.

In the case of the latter some of the local government officials from the Kleczew commune, where Budzisław Kościelny is located, became interested in the banner issue. Kleczew Mayor Mariusz Musiałowski and councilor Adam Chorbiński sharply criticized the exhibition.

It’s worth noting that one of the Budzisław parishioners, allegedly after obtaining the parish priest’s permission, brazenly turned the exhibition around so that the images on the banners were no longer visible from the street.

Furthermore, in Sompolno, an unknown group threatened to assault the vicar and destroy the exhibition, and in another parish, Skarboszewo, someone stole the Foundation’s exhibition twice.

In response to a volunteer’s inquiry about the possibility of displaying similar exhibitions on land belonging to municipalities, the local governments in Brudzewo, Władysławowo and Koło, among others, expressed their strong opposition to the project.

Any actions aimed at combating the pro-life movement, regardless of their nature, are doomed to failure. Destroying exhibitions, intimidating priests, attacking anti-abortion activists and publicly ridiculing pro-life activities demonstrate how much the truth hurts and how much hatred is harbored against the unborn life.

Their open anger only exposes the hypocrisy and mendacity of the left, which commonly uses slogans like „freedom,” „equality,” and „tolerance.” Clearly this tolerance does not extend to unborn children whom they deprive of their life, humanity and do not even consider as human beings.

Let us remember – let’s do as much for unborn children that we can say to God with peace and sincerity during the judgment: “Lord God, I know that I have dedicated my life to You and to others…” Let’s also remember that “whoever saves one life saves the entire world”… I cordially invite you to help lead the pickets in Konin and to join the Foundation’s other campaigns!
